Our Teachers
My husband and I currently live in Lyle but I grew up in Home Valley and
graduated from Stevenson High School. Prior to teaching at Mill A, I
worked at Carson Elementary School for two years as a member of the
Washington Reading Corps, where I taught supplemental reading groups and facilitated other literacy focused opportunities and events. I graduated from Western Washington University (WWU) after earning a Washington state K-8 teaching certificate, a degree in Language, Literacy, and Cultural Studies, a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and an international certificate to teach English.
I love to read and garden. I am happy to be returning to Mill A School to
continue to build our Bobcat Pride. I have a passion for working with
children and have always enjoyed their energy and curious minds. I am
excited for the upcoming year and am looking forward to continuing to
work with you to help prepare the students for the future. Go Bobcats!
Having begun my teaching career at Mill A School, I am very excited to be back again! I taught for 14 years here, then moved to Laramie, Wyoming, where I taught preschool in Centennial, Wyoming, third grade in Laramie, and 2-6th grades for Wyoming Virtual Academy. The last five years, I spent completing Montessori Upper and Lower Elementary (Elementary I and II) training and teaching at Laramie Montessori School.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wyoming and with a Master’s Degree from University of Portland. In May of 2017 I earned my Montessori Elementary I and II certification.
Currently, I am living in Underwood with my husband. We have two children, Heather and Dalton, who are alumni of Mill A, although we moved to Wyoming before either reached eighth grade. I love to read, draw, and paint. In the future I hope to have a hobby ranch with miniature Highland cattle, miniature horses, and possibly miniature donkeys.
I grew up on a small farm in Husum, and graduated from Columbia High School. After high school, I studied Language Arts with an emphasis on education at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. A husband and three boys later I received a Post Graduate Teaching degree from Western Governors University. As well as teaching, I enjoy DIY projects, arts and crafts, animal husbandry and family life.
